Use of separating gels and procoagulants: separating gel serum tubes
The wall of blood collection tube is treated with inner wall anti-adhesive agent and sprayed with pro-coagulant which can accelerate the coagulation of blood and shorten the test time.

Separation gel is added inside the tube, the separation gel has good affinity with PET tube, it does play the role of isolation, generally even in the ordinary centrifuge, the separation gel can completely separate the liquid components (serum) and solid components (blood cells) in the blood and accumulate in the test tube to form a barrier. No oil droplets are produced in the serum after centrifugation, so it does not clog the machine.
Use of sodium heparin or lithium heparin: plasma tubes
Heparin has a variety of anticoagulant effects such as enhancing the inactivation of serine proteases by antithrombin, thereby preventing the formation of thrombin, and preventing platelet aggregation. Heparin tubes are generally used for emergency biochemistry and blood rheology testing, and are a good choice for electrolyte testing.

When testing for sodium ions in blood specimens, sodium heparin should not be used to avoid affecting the test results. Nor can they be used for white blood cell counting and classification, as heparin causes white blood cell aggregation.
Containing Potassium Oxalate/Sodium Fluoride: Blood Glucose Tubes
Sodium fluoride is a weak anticoagulant with good protection against blood glucose degradation and is an excellent preservative for blood glucose testing.

It is generally used for blood glucose testing and cannot be used in the urease assay for the determination of urea, nor for the detection of alkaline phosphatase and amylase.
Use of internal anti-adhesive: serum tubes
The walls of the tubes are uniformly coated with an internal anti-tack agent to prevent blood from hanging on the walls.

It uses the principle of natural blood coagulation to make the blood coagulate, and then centrifuges the serum after it is naturally precipitated.
Use of Sodium Citrate: Blood Clotting Tubes
Sodium citrate acts as an anticoagulant by chelating calcium ions in the blood sample, recommended by the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standardization (NCCLS) at 3.2% or 3.8%, with an anticoagulant-to-blood ratio of 1:9, and is mainly used in the fibrinolytic system (prothrombin time, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, fibrinogen).
Use of sodium citrate: haemosiderophores
Sodium citrate at concentrations of 3.2% (0.109 mol/L) and 3.8%, with an anticoagulant-to-blood volume ratio of 1:4, is generally used for haemoside rophores is tests, where the blood is diluted by an excessively high ratio of anticoagulant, which can result in a faster sedimentation.
Use of EDTA: blood tubes
EDTA is an amino polycarboxylic acid, can effectively chelate calcium ions in the blood, chelating calcium will remove calcium from the reaction point will prevent and terminate endogenous or exogenous coagulation process, thus preventing blood coagulation, compared with other anticoagulants, it has less effect on the agglutination of blood cells and the morphology of the blood cells, so it is common to use EDTA salts (2K, 3K, 2Na) as anticoagulants.

It is used for general haematological tests, not for blood coagulation, trace elements and PCR tests.
Use of coagulant promoter: coagulant promoter tube
The tube wall is uniformly coated with an internal anti-adhesive and a coagulant is added. The procoagulant activates the enzyme fibrinase, which turns soluble fibrin into insoluble fibrin aggregates, thus forming a stable fibrin clot.

Procoagulant tubes are used when rapid results are required and are generally used for emergency biochemistry.
